Word on the Street is an exciting new English Language teaching programme co-produced by the BBC and the British Council.
Word on the Street looks at how English works in everyday life and presents lively aspects of young British culture. Each half hour episode is filmed in a different place in the UK and features drama, interviews and reports to help you improve your English language skills.
Tristan’s friend Jay Marie is visiting London, and Stephen and Ashlie are fighting to be her guide. They visit some of the most famous historic sites in London, hear Big Ben chime – and have afternoon tea!
Meanwhile, Amandeep travels back in time to fight besides the men and women of the English Civil War – but will it be Parliament or the King who wins?
Ashlie’s car has broken down… again! Rather than call out a mechanic, Ashlie and Stephen learn how to fix it themselves. But will Stephen’s new car be too difficult to fix?
Wendy learns how a good education is not just about knowledge – but can be fashionable, too! Join her as she meets graduates from fashion courses, working together on a new range of clothes.
